I defiantly have to take another pic I've moved a few things sense this one. I will also attempt to post a plant list.... At least of the ones that I can name. Theirs a large variety in there. |

Plants are pretty easy if you do your initial setup right. Ive got about a 1/4 inch of potting soil and a pound or 2 of laterite under my sand. I also use root tabs. But that's all I do no liquid ferts no CO2. Just good light and fish poo

I dose excel when I remember to.. any where from daily to weekly. No CO2 injection. Lighting is a double florescent shop light hung over the tank with the plant/aquarium bulbs form home depot. I also have the window shade raised up about 3-4" so I get a little direct sunlight at certain times of the day and indirect throughout the day. And yes I do get algae where the direct sunlight hits but I just fight back with a handy dandy razor blade. I don't know if I described the substrate or not so here it is from bottom to top; 1/4-1/8" well boiled and rinsed non fertilized top soil mixed with 1/4-1/8" of laterite topped with 1-2" silica pool filter sand from lowes. Fertilization at the moment is root tabs. I do need to look into getting a second fertilizer though. Ok plant list.... That's a tough one even when I'm looking at the tank java moss Java fern windelvo's fern Anubis- not sure of the exact type my guess is dwarf green wendetii crypt sunset hygro- That's my best guess, I got it out of a ditch Southern waternymph corkscrew val tape grass- val water sprite sword of some kind giant hygrophila water wisteria banana plant duck weed- it snuck in there somehow hornwart And about 5-10 others I havent ID'd yet.. I know I missed quite a few though Did I mention I like my plants?

The livebearer, shrimp, and cory count has gone up. They all breed in there The dojo count is now at 1 Mr. Graboid decided he wanted to check out the floor several feet away from the tank one day. I still miss that crazy loach....

That was the point and everyone is breeding in there. The only ones that aren't (or I haven't seen them) are the neon's and loaches. Its a very happy tank all in all. Its just not net friendly at all I couldn't catch a cold in that tank if I tried . Everything as far as decor is real, real rock and wood. The rock is; quartz, slate, marble, granite. Wood is cypress and citrus both with the bark on just rinsed and boiled for a few days.

I have to also add that the corys and loaches helped with the plant placement. If they didn't like it where I put it I found it uprooted the next day. I learned after a few times of replanting it in the same spot to try a different spot and slowly but surely we came to an agreement on where the plants should go. Strange but true. So I guess the corys and loaches need some credit on the tank as well

| That's a long list of plants it does not look like that much. You must have alot that still need to grow in. Looks good so far. | |

They were all bought small. Some grow fast and have been trimmed down and the cuttings moved and some just grow slow. Like the water wisteria I only have one small one that didn't melt away and it doesn't really seem to be growing much at all. Quite a few have been added recently though.

There's hornwart, some southern waternymph that got uprooted, Some water sprite baby's and others that just wont stay planted. I also have some type of lily that I found locally... Its not doing very good at the moment and I may have to take it out. I think thats all of the floaters

I'm going to have to pull up all of the rock work in the tank soon and give it a thorough vacuuming. I have some debris in there that I need to get out, especially in and under my 'fish condo'. I have been putting off for far too long, it will take several hours to do........
