My purple briggs mystery snails have at least one momma and papa in their midst. The clutch is nearing two weeks old and is a nice pink shade. If I had a camera that was water prrof I would take a pic. (she hid the eggs up where you can barely see them.) So come spring I might have mystery snails for sale.

Two more clutches a couple of days ago. Very first one did not make it. I found in on the bottom of the tank one morning and assumed they drowned.

Well it seems the next couple of clutches have survived to hatch. Not sure how many or where the babies went but I did see at least 2 actual hatchlings.

Got another new clutch about 2 days ago. Going to have so many babies it's not funny.
On a sadder note, lost two of the parent snails, one was a male for sure (he died happy like all men want to. That is with an erection)

Well I figured out what happened to so many of my snails (lost 4 out of six) one got stuck in some decorations (starved to death I assumed) and rotted there, fouling the water and throwing my cycle out of wack. After several days of 10-20% water changes things seem to be back on track. I know the two remaining snails are male and female because two days after the tank cycle calmed down I caught a glimpse of snail porn. So going to be on the lookout for another clutch in the next couple of days.
Fun Times!

In the future scrap eegs and put on egg crate over a stryo box with a little water in the box. Egg crating is white square plastic you see on lights in office buildings. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes. That will help with survial. Keep eggs dry.

Or I use the plastic craft canvas. It's cheaper and you can buy a whole package of it.

Not sure what happened but all my adult mystery snails are now dead. The babies are flourishing though.

Were you feeding any calcium supplements?
