I added a Manzanita stump to the tank, and also have been using algaefix made by API and Flourish Excell. I increased the filtration with the addition of a Fluval 406 which I have spongue on the bottom tray,Bio balls in the next tray, then carbon, with 3M scotchbrite at the bottom of the top tray with Seachem Purigen in pantyhose (I made my own bags) inside media bags and then topped with 3M Scotchbrite in the top tray.

So now the tank is filtered by the Marineland Emporer 280, a Marineland 350 Magnum canister filter (filled with carbon), and a Fluval 406 for a total of about700 GPH filtration with almost no current as I have the output deflecting off the glass.

Here is the photo. Sorry about the reflection from the door across the room.

I have a big stone that was in the aquarium on top of the Manzanita stump until the stump is waterlogged.

enjoy,
Dave

It is generally waterlogged now, but occasionally I have to put a big rock on it and push it down further in the substrate.
