Perscale Goldfish' tail disappeared

i bought perlscale goldfish and put it into my community tank with other goldfish. in morning i saw that half of its tail disappeared .

now what disease it may be and what should be the urgent treatment.

Good morning, first a few details were left out, when did you purchase this fish, or how long have you had this fish. I think your going to get all the info you need and a little more after you give the info requested.

4 days before i bought this.. (and aquarium was setup 3 months ago (2 comet, 2 fantail, 1 angle fish)),
disease appeared after 18 hours after putting this fish into tank and still no other fish is harmed.

That was one small but yet the most important detail, most petshops including the small lfs have a 10 to 14 day policy on their fish, its pretty obvious this fish was already sick and you did not see any symptoms. I recomend, since this fish is still alive you take it back to the store hopefully if it was one of the larger stores and you keep your receipt and they will give you your money back. As to what you brougth home without any knowledge, replace all you filter cartriges not clean (replace) and before you insert your new cartriges do a 30% water change and from there just watch your other fish for any changes in their health, and stay away at this point from that store for a while.

Can't tell from the picture. Is it rotted or nipped. I don't think rot could take place that fast over night. My guess is that it was nipped by one of the other fish. Many times when a new fish is introduced to a tank the others have to establish there territory. Angelfish can be very aggressive.

hi betta specialist

i had a betta last week but died. i want to keep another but first need advice from you....

my betta fistly got white spots on its fins..i treated it with seira green and also raised temperature. it cured but some days later its gills were in red. and eye color went dull i med with anti fungus. but not cured...what was wrong ?

I'm not familiar with Seira Green. The best thing for outer fungus is salt. I sometimes use Betta Revive which you can get at your LFS. Bettas must be kept in very pristine water. If you have a filter in the tank you should still do 50 - 100% water changes every week. If you have it in a jar or bowl with no filter then you need to do 100% water changes twice a week. Of course with water treatment of some kind.
