breeding goldfish

does any one now how to breed goldfish so i dont need to keep buy gold fish. any tips would be good

if you figure it out let me in on the secret. hell, i'm still trying to figure out what sex they are and have had mine for several months now. i have one i'm hand feeding. it has a swim bladder problem so once a day i feed it peas by hand so that the others don't snag it from her/him. i love my goldfish. how many do you have?

First you need a male and a female. Second they must mature enough to spawn. Third they spawn when the water warms from winter temps.

i heard it takes years for them to mature to spawning age i want to say 4 years but i could be very wrong.

When they get to spawning mode , you will know the males from the females . The males will get little white bumps ( pimple like ) on their gill plates .
Drop your tank temp for a month or so , then raise the temp about four degrees every couple days . Nature will take its course.
When you see spawning action , drop a piece of " toole" , ( netting to make Bridal Veils ) in the tank. Goldie eggs float and are very sticky. once you have eggs , move it to a separate tank , warm it up a bit , and wait.
