not sure, rose color.... do you know what specturm it is. did you buy this light for just normal freshwater or for plants. plants love red so it's more of a plant grow bulb.

then it will work that 650nm seems more of what i think would be a reef/salt water bulb.

the red spectrum is important for plant growth, blues keep plants healthy while the white simulates sun light keep in mind while the red is important they can also promote nuisance algae growth, a good way to keep that from happening is having enough plants to consume the excess nutrients in your tank. The Roseate lamps closely match the chlorophyll absorption peak in the red spectrum to enhance plant growth. The 6,000 K lamps include peaks in the blue and red spectrums that also match the chlorophyll absorption while enhancing fish color. congrats on the Aquatilife fixture they are very well made lights. if you are unsure about your lighting needs for your planted tank contact Dave at Aquaticlife he's a great guy and very helpful. Aquaticlife usually uses stock bulbs that are already in the light for your application when purchased new. I hope that helps a little I'm not a planted tank girl but I do use the same type application when starting and growing seedlings indoors to get a jump on my vegetable gardens each year....good luck!

aquatrader is another cheap light dealer, but from some review they suck in customer service.

No, not yet. I've been thinking of upgrading my lighting for my 75 but can't decide on which fixture. My plants are doing great with no algae issue so do i really need to miss with a good thing just for the sake of getting something new?

cwhip, you’re so right. Everything is going toward LED but they are so expensive for plant use so right now buy cheap fixture so when it does break down the road the LED should be more reasonable.
