| Probably the food. Just skim it out like you do with the iol when you are cooking. I am pretty sure it is the food cause that is what happens to me in my big pond. I have to skim the film out like once a month | |

| The film can be dust or from cooking with oils. Turn every thing off so that the water surface is calm. Cut a news paper so it will fit on top of the water. Lay the sheet of paper on the surface of the water. It will absorb the film and very little will be left if you pick the paper up gently. You may have to do it more than once to get all of the film | |

Well, it's not gone, rather it has been mixed into the water. As other others said - surface agitation will keep it from accumulating on the surface and just be sure to do your regualar water changes - this IS the secondary reason for water changes in an aquarium, after (accumulation of foriegn materials from outside the aquarium: dust, oils, chemicals, etc.) | |

| If you have enough flow at the surface of you tank you will never see the film. It comes from the food you feed. I dont think its harmful | |

| I had the ame problem a week ago and i took everyones advice, the Viva paper towel (lay it flat on the surface and it sucked the film rite up) and i added a 12 inch bubble bar at the back of the tank(oposite side of the suction tube) and WALLA problem solved. Crystal clear water again. | |
