Well this is the first ick outbreak i had in years.. i purchased 3 black neon tetras for my 55g behold 3 days latter they were cover with ick they all died within a 3 day span, Now im about to loose all my plecos, brittle nose, clown and common along with a kuli loach and rainbow shark.

I know i should quarantine the neon's before introducing them in the tank..but i had a brain fart.

whats the best ick medication out there now on days?

Heater and salt man! Raise the heat gradually to 84 and add NaCL 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. Do the salt gradually too. Dilute the salt in a quart conatainer and add while the heat is rising. Once you see the white spots start to disappear (a few days to a week) do a deep substrate vac with a 50% water change. Keep heat and salt at this level for three weeks. Follow up with more substrate vacs to make sure its gone!!! This way you don't kill your BB with chemicals and you should have all this stuff at home.

Do the salt slow. Your scaleless friends will appreciate it.
This is the best method I have used for ick. It cost nothing really and really effective.

They say it can survive temps up to 86. I think that's a bit high for fish but its worth a shot.

Yes ick can survive temps in the 90s. They found that out in Flordia. Quik cure is ajso a good treatment. On scaleless fish half dose and half dose of formalin.

in the rare event my fish get ick. i usually get the tank temp gradually from 25*C to 32*C (78*F to 90*F) over the course of a 2-3 days. and then keep it at that temp until the ick is gone.

and add perhaps a teaspoon of salt to the filter a day for 3 days

i think the salt does a better job more so than the heat. but no harm in using both, it can only help
