| if only the US public would be open to eating snakeheads and buffalo carp fish them out of the water to thin out the population. Asians eat them all the time. pretty sustainable obviously... and if they were overfished? gee, darn, shucks. LOL perhaps the US should export these fish BACK to the asian markets as a way to control the populations(of fish, no people)?
btw I'm not being xenophobic. I'm asian. My mom in her diva self tried to order snakefish at a chinese retaurant(as she would in China) but we all had to remind her that things aren't as available in the US as they are in China.

| Impossible to overfish these species in the U.S. because the native species are not evolved to deal with the extreme conditions the snakehead and assorted asiatic carps are. They are "less fit" to survive against them. These invasives shouldn't have been imported in the first place, and yet people continue to import species to non-native countries around the world...Notice how the common european house sparrow is now a common "global" house sparrow... | |

| ya true just like the zebra mussel witch i destroying lake tahoe a lake we no very little about or the northen pike that ended up in lake davis witch were sold around here in the early 90 s as aquarium fish its up to all of us to teach responsibilty and keep these fish out of our water ways
the other day i was appaled to have a customer tell me that one of the stores that is no longer here told him to put his paccu in virgina lake insted of helping him find a new home its easy for stores to work with distributers to find new homes not put invasive species in our water ways | |

| In Florida, the snakehead is readily available in a lot of Asian markets and it's not illegal to sell as long as it's being consumed for food purposes. | |
