| ..I'll even start it..
I hear pleco people that breed, seem to trigger with food and water changes.. any drop in temp while doing this? ....basicly recreating a 'flood' or rainy season..
I know all you Richmond folk can relate to the James when a flood goes through...at the boat launches the fences (at least 4ft tall) will be covered in mud and snagged leaves....
Also, in some snakes, it's good for the 'couple' to have never met before. So maybe two or three mature fish, when they meet they 'fight' to establish so Im thinking, that may 'kick it off' so to speak... think boas etc..
Your guess is as good as mine. Don't hesitate to speak.. -peace JT

| I have had pretty good results with good food and cooler temps at wc(not loaches). I have read they like to travel up current and they find pockets in the current (behind or in front of rocks). I'm not to sure myself. I don't think there are many cases where people have been able to breed them. | |

| If you could I'd be greatful..
When you say 'adult size' what is that in inches? And you said they were 'groovin' in a 150g?
How was the tank set up filtration wise, and flow etc? -Peace JT
p.s.. if you get a chance to ask how did he handle the eggs?... how long until they hatched?.. anything special put in the tank for them to deposit the eggs on?.. etc..
I could keep going but basicly this is what I'm looking for 'accounts' of... thanks again -JT

| Huh? N/m....
Hey, you said he's a well known discus breeder. I found fish pretty much by accident, I was 'baby sitting' a little new-born Alligator Snapper, all live plants... enter the snails...enter the suggestion of using loaches to clean the snails... So I got some, and the snails were cleaned in no time but these fish aren't normal 'fish'... no guppy's, they have much more going on behind there eyes....
So I got them out of the tank immediatly, and set them up using left over reptile stuff, and now I have a whole 'bonded' crew.
Point being, I don't have a bead on who's who in the fish breeding 'world'... but, if he has a site, or is a commercial person, could you 'name drop'?... If he's a private person, and he chooses, let him know how to reach me here, I don't mind..
Whatever the case, I'd really like some legit first hand accounts.
-Peace JT

| I have breed some loaches. Not in an aquarium. Milking males and females and giving females injection to produce eggs. I also have created hybrids. | |

| Sound like you may have a few more tools/toys than me. Did you keep track of weights, if they went off food, temp?
I know the "H" word is shunned upon, but for 'science sake', what were the mixes? How did they do healthwise.. I hear the term 'hybrid vigor'.. and I hear other times where it doesn't go so well .. Thanks for the input - JT
...easy there Jaiko, I was 'hanging on' your words, I'd like to hear your account as well as your discus buddies.. I'm greatful... -peace JT

| The usage of punctuation....! I laugh because, I thought only I could 'butcher' punctuation in my 'style'... I like to type.... as if a cross between.... Jessie Jackson, giving... a . speach.. crossed with Christopher Walken.... playing... a .....role...!... Where ever this gets me...... ahhso be it... -Peace JT | |

You are double spacing. When typing on most androids hitting the space button twice will put a "." In its place and start the next letter as a capital. Smart phones....... I think you can change the settings so it doesn't do that. | |
