Mchenga Conophoros - 9-25-11 stripped 54 fry from a 3" female (I was expecting ~20) and I suspect she has a few more I did not get.

Male went back to the "boys" tank for the time being so no more fry for a while unless the lemon jake male spawns with his females.

That's an average spawn for those guys. I pulled over 70 from my original trio that I had.

These may be like convict cichlids at pet stores in a few years time lol! The male was really starting to color up nicely with his female...he is back to his more normal self with the other males...not sure if he will ever maintain his color long term with the peacocks and haps as they seem to be a pretty mild species....coloring and the sand bowers they make kind of reminds me of featherfins though not as showy.
