Has anyone ever kept Dickfelds Julies? I saw them in the store today and I wondered what their temperament was like. Also do they need salt?

I just got a group from the Auction. The females will be larger then the males...just like most Julis. I keep mine 78-82 degrees. They love lots of rock and they are always at the bottom. Very easy fish to keep and very pretty blue displayed on the dorsal and anal fin when they get older. If you have a lot of rock for them to hide they will breed like crazy and they do not eat there own so its generation after genertation...They will just keep breeding with one another and then protect one another. Very cool colony to have.

Okay so I've got a question for you. I saw some very, very blue ones at the LFS today. Are they the dickfelds or something else. They were torpedo bodied and labeled as dickfelds, but the body and the fins sported a nice blue color.

    Dickfelds Julie Dickfe10

Here is a great pic. This is what they should look like ..the only blue they should have is on the upper part of the Dorsal and lower part of the anal.

I grabbed this pic from Davesfish.com

Pictures will hopefully be on tomorrow. I'll see what I can do. I would like to know if what I saw is really the Dickfeldi.
