| Well, I guess I won't be getting as many (if any) fish at the show this weekend. My 90 Gallon tank cracked right across the front last night and I had to call into work so I could clean up the mess. Didn't have very many fish in there, though. There was just enough water left when I woke up that there were no casualties - still I'm playing musical tanks getting everyone resituated, though. I was afraid the Magnum 350 filter might not have survived it but, I just hooked it up to my 55 Gallon and its running fine right now.
NOT a happy day.
Guess it's a good thing I didn't pick up any fish from you last night KMX - would have made things even more hectic!
Anyone want a cracked 90 with stand and light? You can have it fer $25 - lol!

| Right across - from one side to the other in an arc starting in the bottom left corner and nearly ending a several inches above the bottom right corner. No real signs to warn that I know of.
We have it set up on an outside wall in my youngest bedroom and it's the only tank in the house which runs directly on an outside wall so MAYBE with the sudden drop in temperature and some sort of small damage in the tank it went crazy?
I don't know - I doubt that's it. Doubt I'll ever really know the why.
I nearly cried...several times...

| Sorry - we already moved it out. I wanted to keep the picture up a little longer for illustration purposes but, my wife did not know and took it down.
I don't believe it was an Oceanic anyway. This had black trim and all Oceanics I've seen had brown. I love Oceanics, though. I have 40 gallon I got from some and the tank must be at least 25 years old, but is STILL in fully working condition.

| Nice, well yesterday my 20 gallon sprung another leak. This is the tank full of plecos and a piece of driftwood I'm waterlogging. The crack was almost at the very top so it's still good and i melted some acrylic onto the glass so it should hold. I have an awesome vacuum cleaner that cleans up water so I was pretty lucky my carpet didn't turn brown. | |

| Raptor, just go to a window place and get a piece of glass. If you don't get tempered I would go up a size in thickness though. Glass is cheap. |

sorry cannot be done that way for a couple of reasons. 1. glass is 3/4" thick and no glass places local carry it in stock 2. extremely expensive 3. if i went out of town i would have no way to get it to the house if i could get a broken tank it would be easier to the peice i need especially since i would have a chance that the peice of glass i got from the tank could be starfire glass LOL |

I bought a 300 Gallon tank. Water Tested it tonight. After an hour I heard a huge explosion. It had literally busted by the seams. Luckily it was in my garage. It hit my car left a dent. Broke my 55 gallon that was behind it. Got everything in my garage soaked, and left glass scattered everywhere. I would say thousand dollars or more of damage.... The guy I bought it from said it was in great condition and had been up for 4 years prior to him taking it down 2 months ago...I'm at a loss of what to do now...Thank God My pregnant wife or I were not standing near it.

picked that quote from another forum.... while i was in colorado springs there was a fish shop that had their 500 gallon display tank bust, they had a show size 14" + long volitan lion, and a show size 12" porcupine puffer in it, and to make matters worse it busted while they were open for business. |
