| does any one know if i could use clay to make some caves for my fish? it would be easy to make some caves with clay and bake it in the oven but not sure if it would be safe in the tank. i also was thinking would it stay together and hard or will it pretty much melt. if i can figure this out i would hook yall up if yall wanted one.
thanks justin | |

| True ceramic clay utilizes a kiln that bakes at over 2000 degrees F, which turns the clay into a glass-like material. This is impossible to do at oven temperatures. Any clay you use in an oven will likely not last in an aquarium... Now if you are/know an art major that has access to a kiln, have at it! | |

| we have kilns at work that i could probably use, i work at a place that makes drill bit for oil rigs and natural gas wells. ill send my boss an email in the mourning and ask him. if he says yes ill post some pics, bust out a couple, see how they work and start seeing if yall want any. or i could always ask someone at school in the art dept. | |

| I used to make pots and ceramic art back in highschool. We did a fundraiser to purchase a kiln. Wish I had access to it now. I'd be making pleco caves ect for my fishies. Keep us posted on how that goes...it sounds fun! Good Luck! | |
