| Hey all, My neighbor has a Koi/Goldfish pond that has a algae problem. What is the best thing to use to get rid of it and control it?

| Well in mine I put a pleco and loads of apple snails. Of course they will have to taken out in the winter months but I find they do help with the algae unless it's floating algae. | |

| Hello, I use lots of plants in my ponds. I used to try to keep the plants seperate from the koi, now the plants are so well established it doesn't matter. I also use a plant filtration box, water is run through this box returning to the pond. I have irrisis in this box and they bloom each year. They are not planted in any soil, just bare root! Not sure if these names are all correct, I have parrots feather, creeping jenny, hornwort ,waterlillies, taro, waterpalms and anachirus, Sorry for the spelling, hopes this helps. | |
