- thanks I'm happy with it:) the hard part is keeping my mag.cal and alk within reasonable parameters..
Are you dosing by hand still? I haven't needed to after the rescape my Mag is sticking @1450,cal 485 and alk 11dkh at this point I am waiting for things to settle down naturally and get my alk down to about 9-10 dkh,cal 450 and mag around 1400 when they hit those marks I will put my stats into the reef calculator based on a total water volume of 150 gallons and adjust the amount added from there. I want to stay right between suggested params and atm my water changing and the elements already in my salt are keeping them elevated. but yes I will probably always dose by hand and topoff I've heard too many horror stories about over dosing and flooding with automated systems. the SPS are growing like weeds so they must like it a bit elevated. that and my TDS is 265 going in and 0 coming out | |

| I've been dosing the Randy's Recipe from reefkeeping magazine's DIY 2 part dosing system @ .5ml / gallon total volume of each part daily. Everything's holding at 8.5dkh/420ppm calcium. The magnesium supplement is only added after the depletion of a gallon of eath part. If you compare the recipe it's chemically no different than the BRS 2 part system, which also suggests .5ml/gallon daily of each part. Your parameters with regular water changes are definitely what's keeping the SPS happy.

| I've had that green Goni for two years but yeah I hear all the time they don't live long in captivity. I also have a pink one. funny they used to be some of my favorite corals but now I'm all about SPS. | |

| thats what I have worked toward is zoas,LPS and then SPS at the top. SPS is a natural progression for me. about a year ago I started getting bored with the easier to keep corals and started working on keeping my params stable then the next thing I knew I had 57 differant SPS's most of which are given to me by friends. we have a kind of coral bank where we swap with each other and if for some reason one of us loses a coral one of us will always has a frag to replace the one that was lost. my params are as follows and have been for quite a while. I only dose two part now but in the past I used pickling lime. ammo 0 trates 0 trites 0 phos 0 ph 8.0 in the am 8.2 pm cal 485 alk 11 dkh mag 1500 I am finding the SPS are growing much better with the mag, cal, alk on the higher side I have also noticed my PE is amazing now. its been trial and error for me to find the sweet spot where everything grows well.
