| WOW my Kribs had babies!! And they aren't super mean to my other fish which is a good thing. There looks like there's almost 100 babies. Why would the female chase the male away from helping her guard? | |

| some female kribs will do that as they are very devout mothers. |

| That's odd. well time to get dividers now lol. Don't want her to get to stressed and the only fish she really chases away is the male on occasion and the Odessa barbs lol. Also how do I know if they are getting enough to eat? | |

go to petsmart and buy hilarious first bites and an eye dropper. This will be perfect for them for a good while till they nibble on sinking pellets. I'm raising a batch now myself that are 3 months old with about 75. Both male an female parents still in tank and never removed. My tank is a 20 gal as well for them by themselves | |

| Congrats on the Kribs! I inherited a big ole male and am on the lookout for 2 females for his attention! Got a whirlwind trip planned for Monday that should satisfy my quest.... 3 fish shops Way way on the other side of the city then a detour about 30 miles out in the country to look at 20 or so Discus that may go on the market! I'll be using up my weeks worth of gas budget in one day! | |

| My experience with kribs. One male and two females...the male will pick one and then both him and her will chase off the odd female..she will end up hiding most of the time. They also seem to mate for life. If you loose the male's female , he may not take on another female for a while. Kribs are great colorful fish. I've even seen a male scoop up a baby in his mouth and return it to the "herd" I thought he was going to eat it at first, but he deposited it with the rest of the fry. Very interesting parental behavior. | |
