| What do yall use as dividers? I'm going to have to make some soon so I need to know what material is ok for a tank. I will be using suction cups for attachments. |

| egg crates. you can find them in the ceiling items at home depot. If you cut the correct measurement, you want need suction cups. ask for light diffusers. $11-$13 for 2'x4' | |

| Ok I was looking at those. Plexiglass wont work for what I'm after (plus its really expensive!), I want the tank to still be 1 tank as far as water circulation. So..... For smaller fish could I just spot glue (with silicone) some of the plastic stuff from micheals that is used for the yarn crafts... Would that work? The plastic mesh stuff doesnt have much strengeth on its own but with the egg crate I think it would work? |

| What size are the fish you trying to separate? Egg crates are also good to put heavy rocks on a bare bottom. Here's an actual measurement of the egg crate. just under 3/4". | |

| The red jewels and flowerhorn. 1"-3" I'm thinking of having both flowerhorn in a divided 30g till they get too big for that. and 2 pair of red jewel split in a 20g long. Once they pair up. |

| Measure as close to perfect as you can get, if cut right, it should be tight on both sides. Those Flowerhorns will grow out of the shared 15gal. quick. I sold all of mine this weekend. I was given an offer I couldn't refuse. I had Red Dragon. | |

| Ya I figured they would grow quick from all my research I did. But They will have the 55g split once the red jewels pair up and get moved out. What did you feed yours? The larger one is turning out to be a very picky eater. |

| I had over 20 at 1 point and never had a picky eater. I feed them Grand Sumo 3 times a day and feeder ghost shrimp twice a week. The days I gave them the shrimp, I didn't give them any other food. I just let them chase the shrimp until they caught them all(about a day).
grandsumousa.com is the cheapest place to get it. I think the 250g container was like $20. In stores I've seen it for $34. | |

| And that will work for them at 1" and 2"? How many shrimp per fish? The bigger one turns his nose up at anything except for live black worms and frozen blood worms. |

| I will get some of the grand sumo red for the flowerhorn this week. The red jewels eat anything I throw in the tank including squished snails!
I think I will go with the egg crate and if needed I will tack on some of the yarn backing stuff from michales. |

| buy an egg crate at lowes or home depot. Its $10. Also it really depends on what size are the fish. If they are bigger than 1in(height wise) then it won't work. I also use it on the bottom of the tank and place large rocks over it, so there isn't alot of pressure put on the pane of the glass and break it. | |

| Well I cut the egg crate and wedged it in the tank the other day and had a flowerhorn per side and they looked ok. I went and smoked a cig and came back and the littler one go threw and they were beating up on each other. I'm going to spot glue (with silicone) some of the craft stuff from michaels onto the egg crate and try again. Grr, If its cheap I don't care what it looks like |
