Hey guys i found u from a post on criagslist looks like a fun site! I have been in the tropical fish hobby since i was 14 and i have kept pretty much every fish available at the pet shops. I love cichlids and monster fish in general i currently have up and running a 500 gal diy it was a hoot to build it and now i want to do a 1000 gal diy lol! and 2 x 125 gal a 55gal a 10 gal.

You know funny enough I looked into making my own tank but I told myself if I did it I would start small and work my way up haha. From the research I did (can't speak for him) you can get the glass cut to size for you then put it together. I would think this would not be the best price wise but maybe as far as time spent it would save you from going nuts.

buy a couple of cracked large tanks for cheap and just make sure you have the same height glass. Make a plywood bottom.

Hello would love 2 see your tank as I too build alot of my own tanks!
As far as ?s get your glass cut from a shop its not all that much more and they will even sand the edges so the fish dont get cut from it. Also for those that dont have the tools needed most home ds or lowes will cut for you dimensions! Draw out your plans figure out what you need cut n go, then nring home your peices n assemble. Its a great n easy way to have something you designed without all the labor.
