| sometimes warmer water helps the bacteria bloom and parasites hatch and make worse | |

Some may disagree with me here but I keep a small container of non iodized salt in all my tanks, since doing this I have never had an issue with parasites or any other types of disease or parasites since. been doing this for around 3 yrs now and swear by it. | |

| I agree with MarkM, thinking about it in a microbiology sense. In a tank you can't really kill bacteria/parasites using temperature without harming your fish/plants. 100 degree water would inhibit some type of bacteria/parasites but at the same time it can bring out other strains of bacteria. | |

| Water boils at 212 F. That's the only way you are going to kill anything. That's why people boil or steam baby bottles, etc., to kill the bacteria and/or parasites. | |
