| First of all I want to say that I had a good year in the breeding aspect of the hobby(patting myself on the back) lol, anyways, lately I have been having a problem with tank space and found myself mixing fish that I know dont belong togeather while I get tanks set up. Problem- sometimes my fish interbreed. i.e. my venustus and steveni, burtoni and red empress, and others.
Solution- I've been stripping the eggs and dumping them into my all male show tank(snacks)
Question?- I usa my all male tank to hold my breeding males if most of the females are holding( a group of 8 females and if half or more are holding I prefer to remove the male, I think its easier) O.K. Back to the question, Is it bad to feed eggs to the males? Will it make them want to eat the eggs durring spawning?
Or maybe i should add salt and spread them on a cracker.lol

| Give them to a Dempsey owner... Like me!
Of course, my Bichars would more than enjoy them as well... yum!

| I don't see any harm. In the wild they eat the weak and deformed fry. |

TRue, I use to let the fish hold and feed the fry but With limited space I cant afford to wait 3weeks. Im just worried the males will get an aquired taste for fresh eggs. I have a male moori dolphin that eats the eggs durring the breeding process. Now he is no longer alowed with the ladies. lol

| I don't see anything wrong with it. As long as they hybrid eggs are getting taken care of. | |

| Most male fish that are spot spawners and defensive have it hard wired into them to protect the eggs; so feeding them eggs that they are not protecting will not change their natrual habits. There are always a few exception to the rules aka your moori, but for the most part they are hardwired to breed and reproduce. | |
