| just showing off my 25g planted tank. stand cost -- free got it from dfwapc member/friend -Robert (digital_gods). Tank, used 25g 24x13x21.Aquaeon from bill at neptunes cove for $20.00 heater new hagen 75w heater from pet supplies plus. for around $10.00 filter aqua-clear 30 on the clearance table at the plano pet supplies plus for $10.00 :P substrate - soil master select from plano john deere store. 18.99 - for 50lbs. I put hagen plant sticks, and sea-chem flourish tabs in the substrate. plants - all free tirming from dfwpac friends/members tanks.. rotala rountilia(gone), dwarf sag, and then some anbuis nana that I bought from petsmart, and some anbuis (sp?). that I got from taynaq2000 fish - 20 neon tetras,12 albino corys, and 3 ottos... the corys I will more or likely move to my 55g when I sat it back up. light- coral-life t5 normal out put with 14x2w 6,700k and color max from pet supplies plus for 40.00 after tax. just shows that with friends, good hobbies, and shoping around you have have a nice planted tank with out sending much money.. TAKE YOUR TIME AND REMEMBER THE K.I.S.S. METHOD. (keep it simple stupid).

| WOW! I like! The substrate you used is not harmful in any way and helps the plants? That"s the way I'm going then. What depth do you recommend? and how much for a 125g? | |

nope it's not harmful but it's very light so it will get sucked up the siphon if your not careful.. for a 125g I would say 2-3 bags should do it and 2-5 bags will give you 3-4 inches. I got 2.5-3 inches out of 1 bag in my 55g. | |

| Very nice!! I see the corys have been busy uprooting some of the plants? A little tip, don't try to replant them back where they were, corys are funny when it comes to planting, if they don't like it where you put it they will always dig it up Mine drove me nuts till I worked that one out |
