| Hello - new member here. Here's some pics of my tanks, though my photography skills are rotten and I need help! 150 gal FW SA setup (very recently dismantled and reinvented!) 40-gal breeder, FW SA 37-gal with a pair of WC leopoldi angels. This tank was originally a goofy goldfish tank, with plastic plants and such, but I moved the goldies out and needed a place to park this male and female angel pair. I need to rework the 'scape! Here is a glimpse of this very shy pair of wild angels: 10-gal brackish with a single figure-8 puffer, Otis. He is a very swiftly moving target so I find it impossible to get a clear picture of him. Any tips on getting a better pic would be appreciated! My camera is very adjustable but I've got no clue what to do with all of the settings. Here's another blurry pic of Otis: I know I need to wear black gloves when taking pics in the future, lol! Here is a pic of the 150 as it is now, ready for frontosa. I know it looks very barren and desolate, but it is pretty close to the deep lake conditions frontosa hang out in, and it will make more sense visually once I get it stocked. It has goldfish in it now holding my cycle until I can afford my fronts: | |

| The rockwork in the 150 is fantastic, I saw it today! (Happened to be passing by *lol*) The background is large slabs of slate. Very impressive look. | |

Hopefully sometime next month. The tank is ready, and I have added some A. compressiceps and A. calvus already that I got for a good price locally. Saving $$ for Zaire frontosa. The fronts available around here are Burundi.

What kind of filters do you run? The 150 has a Fluval FX5 and a Rena Filstar XP4. The 40-gal has a couple of Eheim Classic canisters, and the 37-gal has an Eheim Ecco canister and a Penguin 330. The 10-gal puffer tank has an AC 70, but that is really too much filter for such a small tank (the flow is adjustable and I have it reduced as much as you can). However, this puffer is a messy carnivore and overfiltering is for the best. I had planned to give him a 15 or 20 gal and upgraded his filter accordingly, but the tank stays so clean and he is very healthy and happy, so I don't see any reason to change the tank. I've had him for about 18 months and he is a great fish!

good luck on your fronts They are definitely pricey! I could readily get Burundi, as they are easier to breed and are widely available, but I've decided I like the look of the fish from Zaire collection points better. It has taken months of studying and searching, but this is a large tank that is the feature of my living area, and I'm holding out for the best F1 specimens I can find, which means I have to be patient and save my money first. The stripes are more distinct and their colors are better. I've always been a Tang person and have kept many species before, but never had a tank big enough for frontosa until now. Looking at the pic of the 150 when it was planted makes me wonder why the HECK I took it down, lol, but I was ready for a change. There was a lot of maintenance involved, with CO2 injection and nutrient dosing, then all the plant pruning and maintenance, and I found myself strapped for time when I took a second job. The way the 150 is now it is pretty easy to maintain - just do PWCs regularly and that's about it. It has been running (practically) empty for so long now I'm quite eager to have it stocked, but am trying so hard to be patient! It is not my strong suit....
