can i mix fry

can i put fry in the same tank from different species of fish like jewel fry w/birchardi fry there are both about the same size

idk........i know that fry will eat fry!!! lol
if 1 type of species is older than the other than it will kill it!
what size are they?

about a month old
no bigger then a grain of rice

I have mixed fry before with no problems,but they were all the same size.Just keep an eye on them.

Yep..Definitely depends on the fry. I mixed some peacocks with yellow lab frys and kyoga flamebacks and they were fine. However, when I mixed some crimson tide with some peacocks, the crimson tide ended up taking out 30 or so of the peacocks.

If they look different enough and their water quality and temperaments match then yes.
Personally I don't mix fry just because its such a pain to sort them out later.

you may wanna watch the jewel fry, they can "pack hunt" when I was working jewels they can start being terrorist at a young age. Mine usually ended up living with convict fry or chocolate cichlid fry but they were just a tad bigger (chocolates)

I mix my peacocks and mbuna or peacocks and Vics ..or Vics and mbuna...or Vics, mbuna and Peaococks. It alll works as long as they are around the same age...with in a week or 2. DO NOT mix mbuna ith mbuna. or peacocks with peaocks...or Vics with Vics...this will cause confusion on what females are what and will lead to hybrids
