| 90 gal. means 4ft. light fixture(cheaper if you're going metal halides). less salt (reef crystals) used on the water changes too. and less time dealing with it. | |

| Larger tank means less abrupt swings in water quality. So its easier to catch an oops before it wipes out your tank. Glass because you can clean it with a razor blade and you don't have to buy the acrylic scrapers.... I'm sure they don't work as well as a good 'ol razor blade. |

| A larger tank will be easier to manage. Glass is less likely to get scratched.

| im leaning towards the 90 gal(90 long) for ease of maintenence and lower cost to run effectivley. im sticking with the pwr cmpt lights and I have yet to need a heater...im sure if I didnt need a heater for my 47 gal then im not gonna need one for the big boy(ill still have one just in case though) im going to need a new pump and I plan to set up a sump with a ref under it. ill probably add a tang or two and some chromis or other docile schooling fish and get my engineer goby a buddy but I dont plan on having alot of fish in it, that will keep the water changes down due to the very minimal bio load. I should be good with keeping pretty much anything else as far as corals go. I bee nshopping around and I found a place where Ican get a 90 long for 187 w/o stand whch is super cheap. im gonna need a skimmer also but ive been talking to buddy been reefing for 30 years and owns his own store(thats my LFS) and he said i could get a skimmer..but i treat my new tank like my current oen i really wont need one it would help a bit but not enough to really make a huge difference in the productivity of the tank plus its gonna be open. I leave about 3-4 inches on my tank empty b/c I run pwr heads across the top to create waves which literally keeps my water churning like actual waves, kinda noisy i guess but it puts me to sleep lol | |

| acrylic is alot lighter and clearer. scraches there are scrach removal kits out there for aquariums. I like my acrylic 55g but of coarse I got to set it up, I just got it a few days ago. | |

My nano had crazy scratches from my move, but after 30-45mins. of buffing, it looks the same way it did when I purchased it. | |
