Just wanted to say, "Hello." I am joining this forum to learn more about my Bettas and have a place to go if I have any questions or problems that may come up in the future. I am a novice aquarium owner. I have had 10 gallon aquarium for about a year now in which I originally kept a male and a female Betta. The two have always gotten along harmoniously.

I recently saw another Betta I could not pass up so now have a divided tank. My two males were both purchased at a local privately owned pet store in New Braunfels, Texas that occasionally does have some nice Halfmoons for $10.

I haven't had any problems yet and all is going well =)...I do worry when I use testing strips on my aquarium water it always says nitrates are a little high even after vacuming and changing water, though.

I am interested in the different species and breeding of Bettas, although I have don't have the money or the equipment so I won't be attempting anything like that myself.

Here are some pics. My camera is not good enough to capture the colors and movement so I found some pics on google that look almost identical to my fish, Phoenix and Don Juan =)

Welcome to Pirates . As far as test strips quite often they just are no good. It's better to get a liquid test kit. Watch that male and female together closely. I know you already know that. For betta question contact Whisper she breeds show bettas. I have 6 female bettas in a 55 gal and 1 in a 10 gal. I don't know why but I like the female bettas. lol! I'm glad you joined.
