fish 3 Oscars (1 albino and 2 tiger), 2 Blood Red Parrot Cichlids, 2 Jack Dempsey, 3 Goldfish

Whats up, My name is Dave Bernier and I live in Ocoee, Fl. My wife and Kids and I just moved into a new house and the kids wanted me to put a little fish pond in the back yard and get a turtle. So I went on Craigslist and found an incredible deal on a 70gal. pond kit and a woman who had a slider in a 20gal aquarium for 12 years and felt bad about how little room he had, and wanted to rehome him. so as soon as I finished the little turtle pond, with landscaping and waterfall I became addicted to it and continue to hunt deals for pond supplies and fish. I have now expanded from the 70 gal turtle pond, to a streamlet into a 110 gallon with the fish mentioned above., and I am working on the Latest A 260 gallon pond I just bought. I am new to keepin fish and I really like cichlids, so anyone who might have information about keeping Cichlids in a pond or can direct me to some great deals on Freshwater Tropical Fish I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking foreward to talking to the members
dave

Right On! I really appreciate the posts, Ive never joined any kind of online forum,
Im really looking foreward to learning from everyone.

`Fern, I just moved back to Orlando from Deerfield Beach and while I was at a park in Del Ray beach i threw crackers and bread into this little canal and saw, what looked like, a huge peacock bass and several of those fish you mentioned. My buddy who lives down there says he sees oscars and all kinds of killer fish. this is what made me want to Have cichlids instead of Gold fish. thanks

Do you or anyone know any pet shop, fish farm (open to the public), or breeders that are local to the orlando area that might have a good selection of fish and good deals?

Thanks again everyone

There is a post with a link to a site I found. It is really neat click on your area on the map and a list of fish in that area comes up. I think it is best to get pond fish from the local wild. That way they are already adapted to the local conditions. And they are free so you wont be so mad when a coon hauls off a fish or 3 during the night.

I'm in Lee county so I haven't the slightest of what is in your area.

But I will have some cory cats up for sale soon.
