| I had a snakehead years ago. He ate everything in sight! What a beautiful fish! Only problem I had with mine was he kept escaping. One day I didn't find him quick enough and he died. | |

| You've got me quite curious... how did it taste? How did you cook it? I can tell you Mayan cichlids are fantastic with garlic and butter very close to tilapia in taste |

| When I was a kid we used to empty tiny ponds or pocket of water in rice fields after a typhoon. We catch them with our barehands along with other fish like catfish, Gourami etc. Slippery but that's what's fun about it. Snakeheads are good eating, we usually gut them out, leave the scales on it put salt and pepper inside and out and throw em in the grill. Let the burnt scale flake out and scrape them off and you got some tender, tasty barbequed fish meat....Yum! I miss my childhood lol | |

| We prepared it and wrapped pieces in foil and steam for 1 hour. The taste is like any other wild caught animal...they have that wild predatory taste to it. The texture is that you cannot just peel the meat right off the bone especially right by the spinal. The meat is very fiberous and the muscle strands/meat are almost wrapped along the vertabrae. Making this fish very powerful. Not much gut or insides and so you get a lot of muscle/meat. My parents ate the heck out of it. Thanks to my girlfriend, Caroline for preparing it... | A fish with the type of texture you are talking about would be good in a Sauce picante. | |

| LimeJuice, Soy Sauce with Red Hot Chilli Peppers is the best dip for that fish | |

| Sorry I am not Vietnamese, I am Hmong...and I know a lot of people don't know what Hmong is...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hmong_people
Our people have fought secretly for the CIA and were finally recognized a few years back.
Hmong have also turned the tide in defeating the Mongols alongside the Chinese. So not to affiliate Mongolians with Hmong. Hmong were Chinese at one point but did not want to conform to their governing
