Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) DSCN0495
This is a hardy floating plant with few demands. For me it seems to grow fast and well with or without fertilizers. It will grow in low to medium light but will do better with high to medium light. It can be tucked into your substrate if you like with no ill effects to the plant. If you do decide upon this plant be prepared to trim it often. I do not recommend this plant for small tanks due to its fast growth rate. But it is a good addition to fry tanks due to its growth rate it will help keep the water clean by using up the nutrients rather quickly. It is also a great place for top dweller fry to hide. I have found many livebearer fry hiding in mine.
