I just received some caves last Wednesday from David, Holey Rock of Texas. I noticed my male fanning in one of the caves the next day. I just looked tonight and I have fry. I will move Dad, fry and cave to a seperate tank tomorrow.

Thanks for the caves David!!!!!! My plecos sure like them.

Hopefully I get some longfins from this spawn. Their mother was a longfin and dad was a shortfin.

I don't think there are any longfins out of the first spawn. There must be more at play than just a simple recessive gene, unless it is just to early to tell if any are longfins yet.

It takes a few weeks to tell if they will be long fins, they all start with the same finnage some just keep growing when the shortys stop.
Ya, those caves are pleco love shacks for sure!

I find they grow fast with zuchinni on the bottom in addition to the wafers lol
