Hey everyone! This looks like a great forum! So many people. I'm not exactly a newbie but not far from it lol. I had a 20 gal setup for my first setup and it was doing great until a major storm system moved in and took out the entire area's power for a week. Some survivors from that, then another storm followed that one and killed the whole tank. So now I'm in a more stable area of town and starting my 20 gal up again.

I want to maybe add a sump this go around and wanting to improve my set up overall. So I'm probably going to ask a lot of questions concerning equipment and DIY stuff if I can't find a topic covering it! Thanks for the help and patience in advance!

Welcome to usafishbox . For a beginner and 20 gal tank I would wait to do a sump. Bring it up in a general freshwater thread and see what others may think. Storms got me also this past week here in Richmond.
