| Agreed - you don't need carbon - just keep up with your water changes. | |

| I keep the plastic frames from your current cartridge. Just pull off the old filter media and dump the carbon out. Use the frame to help with seperation of the foam and bio-wheels... | |

| I only have one 350 and several extra catridges from Emeporer 400s - they stick out a bit , but width wise fit fine! | |

| Ken's sells a version for the 350 for pretty cheap. It doesn't last as long as the official Penguin cartridge though. | |

| This is what I did. I bought the Penguin media baskets from drsfostersmith.com. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=12320&prodid=24303&catid=1447 (Scroll down where they show the various filter sizes and you'll see the media basket). They're less than $4 each. Then I bought a roll of quilt batting from Walmart and cut it to fit inside the media basket. I use 2 layers in each basket. I just rinse out the batting at each weekly water change in the used tank water. About every couple months I'll put fresh batting in. But that roll of batting has lasted me so far well over a year and I still have plenty left. If I every need to use carbon to remove meds or whatever I just put a layer of carbon between the batting. I have 3 Penguin 350's on various tanks each with 2 of the baskets running this way. | |

| i use the poly-fil pillow batting. comes in different size rolls, and once the filter cartidges is no good, i just cut the poly-fil to the shape of the plastic frame and rubberband it. Or you can use the green scotch brite pads, just make sure you get the ones that don't soap up when they get wet. | |

| Yes the Aqua-Tech 30-60 is the sister filter to the Pengiun 350.You can use the cartrigdes from walmart. My 350 did not come with the bio-wheels so I'm using the bio-sponge that comes with the 30-60 they fit perfect and do the same job as the boi-wheel's. | |
