I bought a fish tank on craigslist yesterday and I was told it would hold water but when I filled it up it started leaking can some one help me reseal the thing or tell me how to do it thanks

Get a razor blade and scrape off all the silicone on the inside of the tank, leave what wedged in between the glass alone though. Wipe it down well with alcohol and make sure its nice and clean. Use GE silicone I window and door to re seal it, just run a bead all along the inside and run over it with your finger. Let dry for 48hrs and then leak test it.

yeah resealing is not hard but you have to let it cure for a couple of days and a would leak test it outside before setting it back up.

yeah i guess 1/2 " overnight is more than evap. it is is a bottom corner i could glob the silicon on there thick. no one will see it.

So I redid the whole thing with a little more silicon than the first time and put extra on the bottom and cornors

Hope it works out for you... all used tanks bought on CL should be looked at really good to decide if they need resealing. or like you did, always fill outside!

Ok I'm about to start filling it up hoping it doesn't leak......the measurements are 71" long 18" wide and and 27" deep can anyone tgell me exactly how many gallons it is

LXWXH divided by 231 will give approx gallons.......Your tank is about 150 gallons
