Here are my first duboisi babies. This is the 3rd time the female has had eggs & these are the furthest I have got them. After the duboisi slaughter of '09 i never thought it would happen. Its only 3 but I am pretty happy with them... Tres amigos 690297

They're adorable! I've got my first troph moliro female holding now, so I'm curious about what happened with your previous spawns and if there's anything I can do to make hers more successful. Did you pull the eggs or wait til they were fry?

The first one just went away one day. I assume she ate them. The second time I got the eggs but they got fungusy and went bad. This last one it took forever to get an egg tumbler & they were wigglers when I got them out. Get a tumbler before hand was my lesson. Good luck!!!

I've been ok with other African mouthbrooders but they were all Malawi . Trophs are so delicate we just have to worry all the time! I have her in a net breeder on advice of a good friend who also breeds regularly, and has had some tangs spawn. She just doesn't look any too happy in there! They were still eggs when I put her in there 4 days ago, yet she was eating little bits when she was in the tank. Now she doesn't eat. That's pretty much what I'm used to, so I thought she had fry in her mouth when she was eating. Was surprised to find they were eggs still.
