| Hi, Before I go out and buy a canister filter for the new 150 Gallon Tank that I just bought, I wanted to get peoples opinion about the various canister filter out there? Which brand of canister filter would other people recommend?
I have the Eheim and Fluval, but in smaller ratings and I really like the eheim. I am not afraid of leaks with the eheim but the fluval hose can easily come off the top if you yank on it too much (it happened to me yesterday)
Rena Filster Fluval Eheim Magnum
Thanks. | |

| I like cascades, simple design easy to clean and put back together and cheaper than most but well built. |

| I've have renas, eheims, and magnums. Magnums are ok for the $ but are a pain to put back together. Renas are fairly simple to put back together but I have to clean out more often than the eheim. The eheim is somewhere in the middle when it comes to putting back together, but by far the one I clean out the least, and it is by far my favorite. If you can find a good deal on the big boy 2260 I say go for it!!!!! | |

| Avoid the fluval 404! This is the hardest to prime! Seems to take me 30 mins each time to get the stupid thing primed! Other than that its decent. |

| I personally use (with the sponge filters) the c-series canister filters by Marine Land, they are fairly new, BUT ARE AWESOME! They are a real workhorse and can hold tons and tons of bio media. They also self priming which is a surprise feature that Marine Land never had for their power filters.
It is also super quite. I'll post pics soon on a discussion of canister filters because I love them so much lol ; ) | |
