new guy here

hello everyone my name is mike and im from oklahoma. been kiiping fish for many years now mainly central and south american cichlids but dabble in many others too. ive downsized greatly in the last year. currently i am doing south americans in my 240 and it consists of a large pair of hoplarchus psittacus, a large pair of rotkiel sevs and a large pair of xingu pike.

it was the buttikoferis tank for a day then i went to tca and picked up the dovii and had them divided in a 125 and the butti kept knocking down the divider and getting after the dovii. i solidified the divider and the dovii got comfy in his surroundings, after a couple months i started taking the divider down and the butti started in on the dovii but the dovii wasnt going for being a whippin boy so he finally taught the butti a lesson and all was good for several months. once in awhile the butti would challenge but usually they would just spar and go their separate ways. one day i came home from work and the butti had snapped and evidently hit the dovii just right and killed him....sad day.

Welcome! I wish I could say that I'm downsizing to a 240 Gallon tank. I'm still looking for a bigger tank for my fronts/dolphins... My biggest tank is a measly 125 Gallons.
