| How do they work? How are they made? Or where can I get some and how much do they usually run? I'm after a size that is big enough for front eggs. I figure If I gotta get then I may as well get them big enough for the front eggs. |

| I've used these type of tumblers both for Mbuna eggs and frontosa eggs: http://www.usafishbox.org/diy-do-it-yourself-projects-f11/76dragon-s-diy-tumblers-t2204.htm The one in the middle (unprotected Tumbler) houses Long Pelvic Fin Mbuna. They are alreay free swimming without egg sacs. The other two on the sides are Frontosa eggs. You'll see they have big egg sacs. The extra screened layer helps protect the eggs from getting sucked up from the bottom by bigger fry or fish in the tank. | |

| So what size is the big clear plastic part? What kind of screen is that, how is it held on? Dragon isn't too forthcoming with the how to part |

| Sorry for the silence. Haven't been on much. Thanks jojo for looking out. Yea. It is glued on with acrylic glue. As Jojo said the bottom screen is so the adults don't suck the fry out from below. I glue each part twice with the acryllic so it is stronger

| Is it better to put the eggs in a tumbler or let the mother take care of them? | |

| Definately mother is best but if you had hard headed moms that eat or spit their fry. Then you will have to strip and tumble

| use a sponge filter, go to pets mart or petco and buy the plastic tube setup that will fit on the top of it, should be like 3 bucks. It has a grated fitting that fits onto the top that has a hole drilled in the very end of it that you can use for an air line hole.
Buy: sponge filter, air pump, air line tubing, air stone, plastic 3/4" to 1" tube and cap setup from petco or petsmart(can't think of what it is actually supposed to be used for). cheap net to cut up and use as filter(wholes small enough to support eggs but large enough to allow flow).
Application: cut the net into two large squares and place one at the top and bottom of the tube for filters. Eggs will bounce on bottom one. Top one goes right below the airstone assembly. Adjust airstone heighth while running and eggs bouncing for the correct movement. You want them to have movement without bouncing to much. If they sit still they will rot. I air on the to much movement side but others may disagree with that.
You will have to adjust frequently at first until you get the hang of it. Usually i get 1/3 of the normal amount if i strip and get eggs instead of swimmers. HOpe this helps. | |

| i recommend a sponge filter on the bottom of it to keep debris from clogging the flow. If it becomes clogged the eggs will ruin. | |
