You have to keep them with fish they can't eat.

why did you have to sell it?? cause i always wondered if they would sting the other fish alot of not but the ppl at my lfs say that the fish just kinda know not to mess with him and the the lionfish wont just go stinging everyfish in the tank.

I sold the fish to lfs. Thats my job. Yes the store is correct. They don't go around stinging everything. Will eat anything it can get in thier mouth.

i have never had a fu man chu lion, but they are dwarf lions and are considered reef safe. with that said caution should be taken with anything they can fit in thier mouths. as far as stingng goes, their dorsal and anal fins are venoumous, like i said i have only ever had a volitan and if you plan on keeping a venomous fish (lion, foxface, etc) be sure to keep a sheet near the aquarium with a listing of all venomous fish you have as well as emergency procedures for what to do if you get stung. also make sure people dont try to pet teh fishies LOL.

nope never been stung by a lion, one of the lfs owners has though. if you get stung run area under hot water and then head to the emergency room. some people are allergic to sting and that will complicate things if you are which is why you go to the emergency room as a precaution.
