im new to this site it seems real intresting nice pics from everyone this is a good site so far i used to breed guppies and piranhas nice hobbies but my kids didnt like the view of the feeders getting eaten so i sold everything i couldnt stay away so i just bought a new 60 gallon tank with a canopy and stand beutyfull i love it i have all kinds of cichlids in it i have 2 plecos
3 frontosas
2 red zebras
2 peacocks
2 eb jacks
7 electric m bunas
3 madagascar pallenis
21 cichlids is to much i know i have way to many fish i bought them all at the same time. they are all babys between 2 to 3 inches long so my tank looks empty but as they get bigger i will sell them back to the pet shop im just enjoying the beutyfull colors for now i have a fluval 205 in their and a 75 gallon double air pump so far im changing 30% of water every 2 weeks and they look happy so far any advice will help on what i should keep together when they get bigger and what can co-exist together im thinking of getting a bigger tank later

sounds like you have a nice set up. as you can see there are some cichlid freaks on this forum. i love fish but i dont know that much lol

thanks yeah i been reading alot and it seems that their is a alot of questions being asked so i think ill enjoy this site i actually like the fact that i can feed my fish now and not get biten

Sounds like you have a fair mix of fish! You may want to get a 2nd tank and split up the Africans and Americans soon due to differences in water parameters

thanks for all the welcomes so how many fish can i keep in total in my 60 gallon tank like i said i have 21 in total about the american and the arican i dont really know which are which so help me out on this i was told they can live together so i bought them i guess i was lied to

it is hard to say without kno the species you currently have but i would say your tank is fully stocked. if it was only africans i think you might be able to have a few more but most american cichlids get big. maybe if you post some pics i could or someone else could help you figure out what all you have.

just a tip on your water change i would do a weekly change of 10% and once a month do a 50 % 2 weeks with a 30% water change is pretty drastic and can prove to be devastating to your fish

yeah the ebjd should be fine just try and hold @ 8.0
btw nice dog i miss my pit t but now we have a golden retriever kids love him
