i got a 60 gal project im workin on!!
im a cichlid freak!
any tips or tricks to settin up a cichlid tank???

It may not attack you but it would eat the crotch string in your b/friends tongs!!

my sister has convicts in a 55 gallon and they have killed everything in the tank regardless of size, including 2 10" plecos she brought in from her pond. I also saw this happen at a LFS. I strongly urge you to consider other cichlids. As far as the oscars go, they'll out grow your tank within the year so think about that too or you'll be like the rest of us and have multiple tanks

They only kill everything when they are in breeding mode. I have two (male n female, not breeding) in a 55 with other cichlids and my blood parrots rule the tank. Otherwise two females will do fine with any other fish.

ive had a couple before!! (convicts)!
way back when i didnt know much bout fish!!!!
i had them in a 35g mix with some gold fish!!! lol
now that i remember its kinda funny!!
but yeah the convicts didnt do a thing to the gold fish!!!
they were always hidden!! but then i found out y!!!!!
they were breeding!!!
after they had the fry all they did was punk the GF they didnt kill em or anything!
