| I am considering purchasing some of these little fellows. I have done my research and now I would like to hear your pro's and con's on keeping and care of them. photo courtesy of loaches.com | |

| I have these in a 125 with my mixed africans. Very lively, they swim all over the tank. Very playful and the cichlids leave them alone. Go for it! | |

| Not sure about clown loaches, those get pretty hefty in size (over 1') compared to these (5"). I have mine mixed with Botia histrionica and they all school together. | |

| Mixing with the clowns isn't a requirement, just curious. If I start a herd of polka dot loaches they'll be in my 100 gallon. | |

| No sir, they leave each other alone. Probably because they inhabit the sandy bottom and the cichlids stay more or less in the mid section of the tank. My cichlids pick on the bristlenose more, none of my loaches have nipped fins. I'll try to take a pic of them, they even like to lay on their sides on the sandy bottom. I always think they are dead until I run up to check, then they lazily swim into the upright position and wander away from me. | |

| The Kuboti (Polka Dot) Loaches as are most of the loaches and botia more inclined to thrive in soft water and low pH........Always buy three or more and provide them with many hiding places.......They are a riot of activity. | |
