First topic message reminder :

Anyone have any info on successful breeding of P. demasoni? Ours are just a little too young right now. I have read that they breed like crazy once they get started though.

I have bred Demasoni for years. My sucess is that I have 2-3 males to 5-6 females. I actually have them in my main tank with others and they breed like rabbits. I really think just having them in their own tank makes them kick the crud out of each other. I have set up a breeding tank once and they beat each other up, but that does not happen in my main tank. That is just what works for me. P. demasoni - Page 2 422518

how many total do you have? I've seen someone keep a demasoni/yellow lab tank. It was crazy overstocked 75 gallon tank. He probably had 40 demasoni and about 20 yellow labs. I had 15 in 55 and they all killed each other. I only have 1 from that group and he is missing an eye and in a 12 gallon with a BN pleco. I really would like to get into them again but I won't do it unless I have a 25 plus. I've also had problems sexing them. Did you vent them?

Try crowding them. The more you have the fewer problems. Example 120g have around 300 inches of fish. Yes this seems like lot but you have fewer deaths. To many to have one or two kings.
