Any dicus people here?

Is anyone on this forum interested in Discus ? Where can I buy discus breeding cones local? I have a few pairs laying eggs all over the place!!!

I don't do Discus, but I have seen them for sale in the little Taiwan owned fish store in the Garden Ridge mall in Plano. Don't know how much though, never really priced them, just have seen them there before. Most of their stuff is imported from Taiwan and is pretty cheap. Worth checking out if your in the area.

you can also lay vertical slate in the tank and they will lay the eggs on them. Just cut like 3 inch strips from tile from home depot

Aquatic Wonderland sells ALOT of discus.

i admit it, im a discus freak! lol
you can use a inverted flowerpot instead.
the cones look some much cooler than a flower pot.

make sure you have soft water to hatch you eggs and BBS for your fry 9 days later to start ween off the fry off the parents

if you are going to buy discus i would buy from an individual. there are many that sell them in the dfw area. The lfs dont do proper waterchanges. You will be better off buying from an individual that loves the fish than from a store just trying to make a profit from them. just my personal opinion though.

Theres a guy in Houston who does Discus wonders. I sell fish to stores and when someone ask me for discus I send to him. Large selection.

Its Houston Aquarium Warehouse. Phone#281.741.9688 I have seen his discus many times. Good selection. Don't know prices. Call him and ask all the questions you want.

I know 2 local breeders in Arlington, not too far from you. Store bought, best price locally is Aquatic Wonderland also in Arlington.

I picked my 6 from a local breeder. There's actually some posted on CL right now. If you search his name is Thong and sells buy 5 get one free. juvies for 10 each.

I wouldnt reccomend anything from aquatic wonderland.

thanks for chiming in, I was gonna visit them one day because I saw their prices online but never got to visit them.
