I'm looking to get into saltwater. I've always loved they way they look but the wife has never been on board, now she is! I really like the nano cube/ biocube look. Is there a preference on which brand is better. Also, I've heard mixed reviews on the small cubes vs the larger tanks. I'll more than likely wait till the right tank comes along for sale. I have a 46 gallon Bowfront that I'd love to have as a reef tank but have absolutely no equipment for salt. Also there is no room under the stand for a sump. Any and all suggestions and tips would be great! I've read through the threads on nano reefs, but would like some input on larger tanks as well.

Hey J best thing to do is to buy the whole setup off of CL or the Forum! That will be cheaper, just make sure you see everything work before you buy! Wanting to get into Saltwater... Suggestions welcome! 772341 usafishbox

You'll want to plan what you want to keep. That will determine your equipment needs. My first tank was a 29 with hob everything. While that worked out fine for my needs, I will confidently profess that there is no way in hell that I will EVER set up another reef tank without an auto top off.

Red Sea max are great tanks they are all in one and very easy to maintain, I have seen them for sale On CL from time to time. I've had tanks anywhere from 180 gallons down to 15 gallons and in my experience smaller tanks are much easier to maintain while larger tanks are easier to keep stable "water volume" really depends on what you plan to keep..

Jason... Joe reborn is a pro I would contact him. Also there is a site that you can get donated frag and coral. As we are doing. You just give another person some frag when yours grow out.

I've talked with him a little bit. Has anyone ever used hang on back refugium? I keep browsing around for the whole set up but people tend to not email back on craigslist lol! I'd really like to find a reef ready tank. All mine are just standard aquariums.
