is there any type of rock that you can not put into your aquarium for canes or shelve type rock scaping im curious i just bought some river edge rock almost looks like river rock the same type of granule look i did the vinegar test and sizzled so it will raise my ph but curious if anything will harm the fish

If I am ever in doubt I boil the rocks for about 20 sec. each.

boiling rocks can be dangerous as if there are air pockets in the rock it could explode. kind of like poporn lol. i do not think this will happen in 20 secs tho lol.

Those are just fine for your hard water cichlids. Just hose them off good let them dry in the sun for a day and you are good.
