| I find loose zoas in my tank from time to time too and put them in a little bowl with some rubble and let them latch on and then put them somewhere else in my tank. I have some GSP's & a watermelon shroom in the bowl right now! | |

| GSP in the bowl for containment purposes only! That stuff attaches to whatever the heck it wants if you don't. Did you cut up the shroom? Take a scalpel and cut it like a pizza getting some of the mouth on each slice and throw it in the bowl to attach... 4 watermelon shrooms! | |

| Nope they don't move looking for light,,...they will just die where they are if not enough light.
I know the GSP will sprout where ever they are but I want them on this rubble and then I can trade them in at my LFS! haha
The little shroom is about 1/4" across. I accidentally knocked it off it's rock while cleaning one day so I threw it in the bowl too. Now the only problem is if that little shroom gets potent enough to kill the GSP before it latches on. Those watermelon shrooms are pretty potent to things around them.

| Thanks, not so sure what the lol is but ok. There is brown stuff everywhere today. I guess this stuff will start dying off sooner or later. Its alright on the pale white rock but its all over the sand and glass. | |

| tonights test
ph 8.2 ammonia .25 nitrite 0 nitrate around 10 ppm
Im going to start looking for a good hob skimmer very soon. I know that will help with the nitrates. Anyone with personal experience with any that can make suggestions?

| Alright so i got a frag of some zoas tonight from a friend. And some other thing. I will get pics up tomorrow or the next day after they are adjusted and opened up. It seems that i will be going to the frag swap at that pet place this month. The wife wanted to take me somewhere for my bday so we are going there. WOo i also rescaped the tank tonight. Like i said i will get pics up one more time probably saturday. I also noticed a little starfish in there. Must be a hitchhiker from the one thing i got. Seems like everytime i look in theres something new to see. | |

| So my little colony of zoanthids are finally coming around and starting to open up. Once they get to where they all open up i will snap a pic. The other thing i got, after researching was a nice size piece of some sort of gsp. From lookin online it says this stuff is pretty tuff and you can trim it with scizzors how ever you want. I was thinking about splitting it so i can put it in two diffferent spots. Any suggestions. | |

| yeah if you can't grow GSP there something wrong very tough stuff and very prolific so if you want to keep in from growing onto certain rocks then I would keep it contained, it grows in a purple matt when the polyps are in you can just peel it off and glue the matt to a frag disc or whatever you want whats pretty cool is to glue some to the back wall of your tank and have a living background. keep up the good work! | |

| Thanks. The only thing is they havent opened yet but from what i read last night it could be a week or two before they decide to come back out. Its a really good size piece . thats why i think i need to trim it some. Seems that part of it was fragged to a rock and it has just spread. Im pretty sure thats where my star fish i saw the other day came from. I think im going to make that swap in Pa this month. So if you decide to go let me know. Maybe we could meet and say hello. | |

| So yesterday I picked up a hob skimmer. The guy lending it to me called it a whisper style. It's running and this morning there was some bubbling. It was all white tho. He said I may not have enough bio load for alot of junk yet. Anyways it's running. | |

| there also maybe a break in period for the skimmer to get a good slime coat if the skimmer was really clean when you got it. new skimmers take about 3 weeks to break in. I just bought a new skimmer as well the Reef Octopus SUPER SRO 5000INT In-Sump my Bio load has grown so we'll see how it go's. | |
