| The plants are fake..... Live plants are harder to maintain and I have strived for an easy to care for tank. They look nice tho and give the smaller fish a place to hide. | |

| I've really never done much special for live plants and they help keep up the water quality..... |

| I also have a 55 gallon, and have tried to keep live plants....but my Bala sharks keep eating them... : (
I have started using only plastic plants or rocks for the fish to hide in. | |
