So it looks like I may be doing some aquarium rearranging soon. The main reason I am doing this is for my featherfin catfish. He is in a 45 gallon aquarium but I am considering putting him in a 40 breeder. The reason for doing this is that he is the longest fish I have and the 40 breeder is the widest tank I have as it is 5 3/8 in. wider. It is 1/4 in. shorter in length and 7 3/4 in. shorter in height than the 45 gallon. He has no problem turning in the 45 gallon or anything like that but I am just wanting to give him the best environment. What would he like better, wider or taller?

Since its only a 40b then I think, but could be wrong that the featherfin will bully the pictus cat!The featherfin really needs atleast a 75g or bigger, but if you ain't got the room for one then I guess you put it in the best tank for it! usafishbox

I also have a 55 where I can put him, and it is obviously longer than both but has has the same width as the 45.

The 55g would be the best tank for him then! usafishbox

How do you think a featherfin would do with rainbowfish? If he goes to the 55 and they won't work they will go to his old home.
