I got a new 55 gallon tank. When it's done cycling, I was wondering if you could put a pair of convicts and a pair of red jewels together. There will be plenty of rock work and caves.

you can always try anything in my opinion. but dont ever be surprised by death or brutality, sometimes itll work sometimes it wont. but a good suggestion is to get your fish as young/small as possible and have em grow up together. heck im raising an odd mix of fish. neolamp brichardi with kribensis cichlids along with pristella tetras, cardinal tetras, harlequin rasboras, corydoras, and guppies in a 40g. complete harmony.
