Does Tetra SafeStart work? I have seen it and wondered. My friend is having trouble cycling her tank. I suggested she might try this stuff but I don't know how well it works.

    Sorry for responding so late.

I am fairly new to the aquarium hobby.

Some friends recommended Safestart. I used it to start my 90G, along with 2 HOB filters from my 29G. It took exactly 3 weeks to cycle completely. I'm assuming it did what it was suppose to do. lol!

I also have used it when doing large water changes and when introducing new fish to tank.
But now I have Stablility from Seachem. Only because when I returned that icky bottle, the others where icky too, LOL!

    How's your friends tank doing?

I like Stability it has been a good product for me. The only problem I had was that after following the directions it got me about half way through the cycle. I had almost no ammonia within only 3-4 days but after the week that the directions say to use it for I still had high nitrite readings. It took another week/week and a half to finish the cycle. That is still very fast when you consider a fresh start tank.

I never liked the tetras stuff... I have found it not to work, and there amazon black forest is just almond leafs and water... .. I have had good results with seachem prime, clearitiy, and stability.
